Okay so I admit, production wasn't as good as I thought it would be at first.
i had no friends working backstage :(
didn't really get assigned any specific jobs to do so i just sat around the theatre watching the leads rehearse
I hardly got to see my only friend (anita) who is in the actual musical so I was awkwardly walking around everywhere...
THEN the next day was a lot better.
I made a friend :D
the teacher gave me jobs to do so i bonded with other people more
it was fun watching the rehearsal cos the acting is so pro and the singing was so nice
when i didnt have to do my job (3/4 of the time) i just lay on the floor underneath the seats and slept xD
learnt how to put in the mics into people's backs and set everything up (felt so useful after that xD)
Every day after that was very fun. As Production Week was ending, there was more to do and i became more familiar with how everything worked. By the end of yesterday, the teacher trusted me more and gave me jobs to do ^^ I'm glad she didn't tell me to control all the lighting and use the headphones to communicate with the head of mics guy .. cos that's one scary job. Basically my job was to help the leads set up the mics, unmic them, change people within 40seconds.
Thank god everyone was really friendly and gave me advice and helped me and stuff ^^ I love it when people are nice. I wish everyone in the world was nice and helpful...
There is one scary part though. I HAVE TO APPEAR ONSTAEG FOR THE FIRST 20MINS :O It's really complicated to explain, but i just have to act onstage with 3 other people for the opening scene T_T I'm so scared!!!! ARRGHH -breakdown-
nah it's okay cos working backstage is fun :) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BUSY ATMOSPHERE, THE SHOUTING, THE SCARED FACES etc. I also like cleaning up when the leads strip .. okay i know that sounds really wrong but when i help them change they have to get changed in 40secs and tehy just throw everything on the floor and i clean up the mess after they go on stage. This is not sarcastic!! It makes me feel useful ^___^
I'm drinking my third smoothie at the moment. I don't know why but I always make an excessive amount of smoothie mixture (?) so I always end up with like, 5 cups T___T omg im dying. SOOO FULL. I can hear my mum shouting at me to eat lunch... great i'm gonna turn into a fat eggroll (don't ask, i just watched peter chao).
